Estate tax exemptions are personal limits a U.S. citizen can leave to beneficiaries without being taxed. Historically, married couples were at a disadvantage in that the couple’s exemption was equal to that of a single person. Recently, Congress has created a portable exemption that the surviving spouse may claim as their own. The new laws leave much to be desired in clarity and application. This workshop will address how our firm is planning with portable exemptions and opportunities that exist to simplify how you claim your estate tax exemption. This event is limited to Client Protection Plan members and their guests.
